Leo Club Dinner 3:30 pm; Showing of ‘Harvey’ to Follow

Babylon High School’s Leo Club, a part of Lions Club International, will host its annual Dinner and Theater Event on Thursday, April 3 at 3:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The event, which is complimentary for local senior citizens, will include a pasta dinner with bread, salad, beverages and dessert. Following the dinner, attendees will be treated to a showing of the Babylon Drama Club’s production of “Harvey” at 5 p.m. Residents interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Susan Colletti at 631-893-7911 by Friday, March 28.

“Harvey,” the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy by Mary Chase, opened in 1944 on Broadway and was directed by Antoinette Perry, aka the "Tony" of the Tony Awards. A film adaptation was made in 1950 starring Jimmy Stewart, who played the lead role of Elwood.
 
In addition to the free dinner theater program for seniors, the production will be performed for ticket holders on Friday, April 4 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 5 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets sold at the door are $10 for adults, $5 for students and $2 for senior citizens.
