Easing the Transition

Students entering seventh-grade at the junior-senior high school on Sept. 3 received a sneak peak of their first day of school as they participated in the school’s annual orientation. With the assistance of members of the student council, the incoming students received their new schedules, took a tour of the building and practiced their locker combinations as they prepared to make their transition from the grade school to the junior-senior high school.

While the students were meeting with the upperclassmen, Principal Al Cirone covered such policies as the morning drop-off routine, the importance of the attendance policy and the close-knit environment that exists in the school with parents. He also shared a few tips on how the parents can help their children transition smoothly to the junior-senior high school and the various support services in place.
