SCMEA Honors

Based on a rigorous application process, Babylon Junior-Senior High School student Aubrey Alvino has been selected to receive a full scholarship from the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association to further her alto saxophone studies. The scholarship is for Aubrey to attend a seven-week program at USDAN Center for the Creative and Performing Arts this summer. Only four such awards were given this year. USDAN Center, located in Huntington, New York, is the nation’s preeminent not-for-profit summer day school of the arts.

Additionally, 28 Babylon student-musicians have been chosen to represent the school district and county at this year’s SCMEA All-County Festivals.

The students were selected for this honor based on teacher recommendations and their New York State School Music Association evaluations.
