Students and staff members throughout the district were warmly welcomed back for the 2016-17 school year on Sept. 7.

The day was filled with smiles and high fives as students reconnected with their fellow classmates and quickly settled into their new school routines. To visually mark the start of their last year of high school, the senior class proudly donned their self-designed T-shirts, which featured their own custom names on the back.

This year will feature several new district initiatives geared toward preparing students for success both in and outside the classroom. These updates include the introduction of Advanced Placement physics and psychology courses and new extracurricular offerings, such as a debate club at the junior-senior high school and a new art club at the elementary level. Additionally, as part of the district’s approved bond project, several instructional spaces have been updated to meet 21st century learning standards, including Rowe Hall, several science labs and the culinary and photography classrooms.

The back-to-school feeling was radiant throughout all three buildings, and students were eager to begin a wonderful new school year in the district.
