Students enrolled in Spanish classes at Babylon Junior-Senior High School recently celebrated “Dia de los Muertos,” or Day of the Dead, to learn about the rich culture behind the Mexican holiday. Students participated in several different activities, such as creating altars and sugar skulls to honor those that have passed. From this lesson, students discovered that “Dia de los Muertos” is a celebration of life, and is a favorite holiday for many individuals, as it offers the opportunity to remember the good times shared with loved ones.
