The Babylon Junior-Senior High School Leo Club recently hosted their annual Senior Citizen Dinner and a Show event, inviting senior citizens within the community to enjoy a tasty three-course meal followed by the Theater Club’s production of “Almost, Maine,” which ran the weekend of Dec. 9.

Upon entering the school’s cafeteria, the attendees were warmly welcomed by members of the Leo Club, along with advisers Lisa Brush and Mike Birnbaum, as they took their seats and prepared to enjoy a delicious meal. The night’s menu consisted of salad, a savory pasta dish and a delicious plate of crumb cake for dessert, which were all happily served by Leo Club members.

“On behalf of the Babylon Leo Club, we’d like to thank all student volunteers and patrons for partaking in yet another successful Senior Citizen Dinner and a Show,” Ms. Brush and Mr. Birnbaum said. “We’d also like to thank the theater program for a breathtaking rendition of ‘Almost, Maine’ and the Babylon Lion’s Club for their continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone again on March 22 for this year’s musical!”

The Leo Club encourages students to gain valuable experience by engaging in opportunities that focus on giving back to the community. The dedication and enthusiasm of the students are what makes the events a success year after year.

Upon completing their meals, the attendees were welcomed into Rowe Hall for an evening performance of “Almost, Maine,” which was enjoyed highly by all in attendance.
