Congratulations to the 45 Babylon Junior-Senior High School students who recently travelled to Rochester, NY, to compete in the New York State Distributive Education Clubs of America Career Competition, competing against over 2,000 students across New York State.

“Not only did our students receive multiple awards, they conducted themselves in a professional manner and were a credit to Babylon,” said Babylon Junior-Senior High School Director of Business Education and DECA Advisor Claire Reilly. “Additionally, our chapter received the coveted Community Service Award for our contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Association, the National DECA charity for this year.”

Babylon’s DECA was awarded 28 top 10 medals at this year’s event. Amongst the winners were Meghan Greene, Management Decision Making (1st place); Catie Hernandez, Visual Advertising (2nd Place); Maya Ryan, Public Speaking (1st Place); Kimberly Botto, Public Speaking (4th Place), Danish Farooq, Community Service Project (3rd Place), Joe Conti, Personal Financial Literacy (3rd Place); Sneha Kumar: Visual Advertising (4th Place); Agnes Goldin received four top 10 awards, including & Lodging Management (5th Place); Allie Van Rossem received four top 10 awards, including Principles of Business Administration (5th Place).
