Makerspace Magic

In an effort to foster creativity and collaborative learning skills, students from Babylon Elementary School have a new way of engaging in hands-on projects thanks to the introduction of the building’s new makerspace classroom.

With assistance from STEAM teacher Emily Moran, students will visit the makerspace to build, create and take part in a number of creative-based activities using various resources. These include but are not limited to a Lego wall, an engineering-based light-up board with magnetic tiles and building blocks. According to Ms. Moran, there are already plans to expand makerspace in order to house a number of additional creative activities.

The space was created this year in partnership with donations from the building’s Parent-Teacher Association.
