On Oct. 17, the Babylon School District’s Office of Special Education, in conjunction with the Deer Park and North Babylon school districts, hosted the second annual Transition and Resource Fair.

Families were able to gather much needed information about important programs and support available to them within the community. Representatives from the Disability Services Offices from more than 25 community resources and local colleges including Mercy College, Adelphi University and Suffolk County Community College attended the event. They were on hand to provide resources to families whose children are preparing to graduate.

Additionally, representatives from Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, along with Young Adult Institute, were present to discuss post-secondary programs and services as well as supported job opportunities for students who are not college bound.
