A MESSAGE FROM THE ASST. SUPT. FOR BUSINESS
Dear Babylon Families,
Welcome to the Business Office of the Babylon Union Free School District. Our hours of operation are 8:00 am to 3:45 pm Monday – Friday.
The business office is responsible for managing the district’s resources in an efficient and prudent manner that facilitates the educational goals of the district. We work collaboratively with our colleagues and educational leaders to ensure that the district’s resources are managed in a fiscally responsible manner that supports the mission of the Board of Education.
The business office is responsible for all financial activities of the district including, but not limited to the following: budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, employee benefits, grants management, accounting, capital assets management, extraclassroom activity funds, audit management, accounts receivable and mandated federal and state reporting. Our office is also responsible for other non-instructional services such as the oversight of all capital projects, buildings and grounds, transportation, and food service.
The Babylon Union Free School District contracts with an internal claims auditor, an internal auditor, and an external auditor to review the finances and operations of the district. These vendors are independent of the district and report directly to the Board of Education. All purchases are undertaken in compliance with general municipal law, other federal and state laws, as well as the district’s purchasing policy.
It is our pleasure to serve the Babylon community and to provide support to all students, staff, administration, and the Board of Education of the Babylon Union Free School District.
