Babylon Junior-Senior High School has been named a School of Distinction Award winner by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Inc., an honor bestowed upon only 35 schools in the state this year.

“Earning the 2018-19 NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete School of Distinction recognition is a credit to the commitment of our student-athletes in the classroom and in athletics,” said District Director of Interscholastic Athletics, Physical Education and Health Michael DeJoseph. “This recognition is evidence of the Babylon teachers, coaches, administration, parents and community working as a team to foster a positive learning environment; the end result being well-rounded student-athletes.”

"Our student-athletes take themselves seriously both on and off the field, and this recognition is a testament to their academic abilities while juggling the demands of varsity sports,” said Superintendent of Schools Linda J. Rozzi. “We are so proud of them!"

Schools are eligible to earn School of Distinction status by having 100% of its varsity teams qualify for and receive the Scholar-Athlete team award during their respective sports seasons.
