Principal's Message

Welcome to the home of the Babylon Panthers!

On behalf of our faculty and staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website for Babylon Junior-Senior High School. Our site is designed to provide you with easy access to timely school information. We are excited to use this website to partner with the entire Babylon Community to create a learning environment that is engaging, challenging, and supportive.

BHS is filled with great traditions, outstanding students, and excellent teachers. We focus on student learning, and we strive to create a positive and safe learning environment.

A well-rounded BHS experience stresses academics but also active participation in co-curricular activities. We encourage students, staff and parents to become involved in our visual and performing arts programs, academic competitions, athletic programs, student government, and student clubs.

Please take the time to look throughout our web pages. I am confident that the information you find here is helpful and will acquaint you with all BHS has to offer. GO Panthers!!

On behalf of the entire Babylon Junior-Senior High School faculty and staff, welcome back to the 2018-19 year! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer and are feeling recharged for another year of learning!

We have been working very hard all summer to create what we expect will be an exciting year. It is our goal to continue to remain focused on deeper, richer curricular experiences in all areas. This year we are excited to push ourselves further into 21st Century learning with the launch of the 1:1 initiative.
Enclosed in this newsletter is information that should ease your transition back to school on Thursday, September 6th. We know we speak for the entire faculty at BHS when we say we are eager to have you back for another great year both inside and outside of the classroom.  We challenge you to make this year one where you not only make a commitment to your studies but one where you get involved in the many activities offered at BHS outside of the classroom as well. We know when you do this you will receive a rewarding experience that will last a lifetime and you are sure to make memories for years to come.

As we get ready for the new school year, we wanted to take a moment to share some important information with you:

Student Orientation

During the first few days of school, every student will attend a “Back to School” orientation assembly.  In the orientation assemblies, students will receive information that will assist them in achieving academic and social success in the coming school year.  We would appreciate any help that you could give to our new 7th graders in their first days of junior high school life.
High School Policies

One of the reasons BHS functions so well is because our students are cooperative and know exactly what is expected of them. Please review the pages in the Student Planner with your child which contains school policies and key information.  Start the school year by stressing organization and studying.  Parents should hold their children accountable for schoolwork, attendance, lateness, tests, etc.

We can hardly wait to share our enthusiasm with you as we open the 2018-2019 school year. We remain committed to high expectations for all students, while offering a nurturing environment that develops students’ social and emotional needs. At BHS, all students can learn given a positive learning atmosphere that welcomes exploration and enhances student confidence. Here is to continuing to make BHS a community of learners where everyone can have input and feel that their voice is valued.

We wish you the best year ever at Babylon High School. See you on the 6th! Welcome Back!
