BES and BMGS Receive a Lesson in Fire Safety

Posted Date: 11/13/25 (11:08 AM)

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, students at Babylon Elementary School and Babylon Memorial Grade School received a special educational visit from the Babylon Fire Department.

The visit included classroom discussions, and presentations on fire safety, culminating in a hands-on outdoor demonstration where students were introduced to the specialized uniforms and equipment firefighters use during firefighting and rescue operations. The event was a highlight for students, who saw a live demonstration and even watched as a handful of teachers were made honorary firefighters for the day.

The annual visit was not only educational, providing important information to keep students and their families safe, but also fun!
