Grade and Junior High School Teams Flex Their Speaking, Legal Skills at Suffolk Community College

Members of the Babylon Memorial Grade School and Junior High mock trial teams recently competed at Suffolk Community College. The annual competition gave students the opportunity to show off months of hard work and preparation for this special event.

Babylon’s mock trial program gives students in the grade and high schools the opportunity to work on their public speaking skills, learn about the ins and outs of the American legal system, and practice forming persuasive and coherent arguments. The Babylon Memorial Grade School mock trial team comprises students from fifth and sixth grade, and is led by Mrs. Briana Budley and Mrs. Jaime Brower. The junior high team is led by Ms. Kahn and Dr. Scholl.
