In preparation for another successful school year, faculty and staff members of the Babylon School District kicked off the 2019-20 school year with the annual Superintendent’s Conference Day on Sept. 3 held at Babylon Junior-Senior High School’s Rowe Hall.

Prior to Babylon School District Superintendent of School Linda Rozzi’s welcoming address, she took a moment to reflect on former Babylon Junior-Senior High School social studies teacher Joe Fragapane, who passed away this past summer. Babylon School District Teachers Association President Robert Richardelli offered a touching speech which celebrated the life of Mr. Fragapane and was followed by a thunderous round of applause from the attendees who joined him in paying their respects toward the former educator.

Mrs. Rozzi then addressed the crowd of eager educators and reviewed the many wonderful additions to the district, including technological upgrades and a number of staff members spanning all district educational buildings.

After her address, multiple faculty and staff members who have been with the district for 20, 25 and 30 years were recognized for their hard work and determination. The district congratulates Patrice Bagdanoff, Lisa Carmondy, Francesca Castro, James Coromilas, Peter Daly, John Christopher Davis, Michael DeJoseph, Gail Farley, Mary Jo Graffagnino, Philip Grande, Paul Grisafi, Joan Johanson, Barbara Krucher, Joann Mahr, Peter Mankes, Nancy Murphy, Linda Pesce, Kristine Prass, Madeline Rivas, Donna Russo, Steve Silipo, Linda Slack, Eric Solnick and Karen Werner.
