BMGS Kicks Off Mindful Mentors Program
Babylon Memorial Grade School (BMGS) recently launched a new social-emotional learning program called Mindful Mentors. This program connects groups of students with trusted adults, including teachers, staff, and specialized service providers, to build supportive relationships and provide guidance across various areas of life.
The program officially began with a meet-and-greet event, where students and their mentors participated in icebreaker activities to get to know one another.
Mindful Mentors is the latest addition to the Grade School's broader C.A.R.E.S. initiative, which stands for Community, Accountability, Respect, Effort, and Self-control. By giving students access to compassionate role models, the program aims to directly reinforce these core values throughout the school community.
